The chip on the net card is RealTek 8139 and I've download the driver from their web site. The problem is, even though the system (DAC)finds at boot the Ethernet Control with the proper id (ie pci 1113,1211) and these settings are in the driver install, the system doesn't recognize my card?

If you are using PC104 I know a place to get the adapter to ISA. We got our NE2000 ISA card from Fry's electronics for $16. They should have PCI versions as well. Some of them worked with the Realtek 8139 boot loader, but none of these are working at 10Mbps due to some blasted problem with the hw.

Any 100Base-TX nic supported ??
One of them is a midi tower case a Realtek 8139, the other is a micro-ATX with an onboard NVidia networking controller. BTW a tip for next time, unless it's a PC-PC removable x-over cable , or a short x-over as an adapter between 2 physically close boxes always make any long run cables patches :-) Me.
